Google released an emergency update for Chrome fixing two zero-day vulnerabilities that were being actively exploited. The update is considered critical and should be applied immediately.
The first CVE affects the Skia graphics rendering engine, allowing attackers to cause crashes or execute arbitrary code through specially crafted web content. The second CVE affects the V8 JavaScript engine, allowing malicious scripts to escape the browser sandbox.
Both vulnerabilities can be exploited simply by visiting a malicious web page — no downloads or permissions required.
To update: open Chrome, go to Menu > Help > About Google Chrome, and let it update automatically. Restart the browser after updating.
