A new malicious campaign dubbed "Pushpaganda" is using artificial intelligence to distribute scams at scale through deceptive browser push notifications.
The attack starts with social engineering: users are lured into enabling notifications on malicious or compromised websites. From that point, threat actors send fake alerts that imitate system warnings, software updates, and security notices.
The campaign stands out for using AI to generate convincing, personalized messages that increase conversion and click-through rates. Reports also indicate abuse of SEO and content discovery surfaces such as Google Discover to funnel real users into the fraud flow.
These notifications may redirect victims to phishing pages, malware downloads, and financial scams. The operation also rotates domains and content quickly to evade detection.
